Title: Kiosks - Why should I use one?

Self Storage Kiosks have the ability to revolutionise your business. How? Well let’s take a recent example in the 'States where a “Depo Self Storage” site installed a kiosk. This is what they had to say:
Owner Bobby Poole opened this facility 8 miles away from his first facility in Dallas, North Carolina. He explained, "I purchased the INSOMNIAC kiosk because I just thought it made sense. As we went through the lease up process, I didn't want to be forced to have someone sit around and wait for people to stop by.
"In looking at the cost, INSOMNIAC quickly paid for itself. It's already taken 43 new rentals and allows us to only have a manager onsite five hours a day. In fact, 53% of all payments in September were made at the kiosk. My staff and I will be sitting in the office and people choose to use the kiosk instead of coming in. 99% of my customers love it!"
Let's look at those figures for a second...
- 43 new rentals
- Assume $100 per month
- An average stay of 6 months.
... 43 x $100 x 6 = $25,800 earned, using
the kiosk.
Let’s assume that the site would’ve got half of them regardless and the
kiosk is responsible for the other half.
... 21 x $100 x 6 = $12,600 generated solely from the Kiosk. This means that for a standard 900 series kiosk the real life payback time is approximately 3 months based on the above figures!!!
Given that half the move-ins and over 50% of the payments for September were taken through the Kiosk it makes sense that the owner can reduce the number of hours the office is open which saves even more as well as allowing the manager to focus on other tasks such as debtors and new sales leads, instead of tedious tasks such as new move ins.
Remember the kiosk is not there to replace your manager, simply
complement the service that your manager and business already offer.
